1.2.6/1.2.5 Import ODT?

On both Windows and Linux native versions, importing an ODT file originally created with Open Office (and edited with LibreOffice) results in a blank document, as does .doc. I can import RTF and text just fine with either. (PDF importing isn’t working under LInux yet, and it’s been broken since the last beta before release with WINE for the Windows version.)

When I import a Word file (doc) in the Windows version, I get an “unspecified error,” but nothing more descriptive.

Known issue? For what it’s worth, I’m using LibreOffice instead of Open Office these days.

ODT import isn’t supported at all, but .doc should be working and I can’t reproduce this using OpenOffice on Windows. Just so I’m sure I understand, you’re talking about a file saved from LibreOffice as .doc and then imported, not one saved in Word, yes? OpenOffice/LibreOffice have to run conversions to output this format, so the result isn’t the same as if you’d saved it from Word, and due to some RTF encoding bugs in OpenOffice, this can be a little messy. Lee did some work with the last update to get around a problem where the use of certain optional tags prevented the text from being copied or imported, so I know there has been a small change in handling these files with 1.2.5/1.2.6.

Do you have “Use Microsoft Word or Open Office for doc and docx conversions” enabled in the Import/Export tab of Options? Which version of OO/LO are you using? (Also, are you just running the Windows version of Scrivener under WINE or is this on a full Windows system?)

Yes. I don’t have MS Office installed anywhere. I’m using 3.5.5.3 of LibreOffice. (Linux) And 3.6.3 for windows under WINE. (I installed it thinking scrivener would be looking in the wine directory for it, rather than the Linux one.)

Yup.

I’m having problems importing both under the Linux native and the current version of the Windows one under WINE. RTF is fine.
