14th NOV - LEE'S UPDATE

Hi Everyone,

A very short post today.

Typical of any credible software engineer I over estimated my ability to get through all the bugs posts and oceans of red ink in my email box and deliver a complete bug list by Sunday as promised earlier.

The good news is that I have read every post and nearly every email from 12th Nov to 25th Sept and am comfortable with the fixes that need to be applied. I’m in the process now of going through each and every post and marking them with a [comment of some sort] in the title. This will be complete this coming week, hopefully then, I should be able to stay on top of anything new coming in.

The other good news it that we have started on the 3-4 week journey of rich text format (RTF) fixes. There are some other critical quick fixes we will apply as well in the coming weeks as there’s still a few rather nasty bugs out there such as creating a non zipped version of a backup and the project ‘Save As’ feature which creates a rather nasty loop of saving folders within folders, and often, depending on file name length, can result in the inability to delete the folders from within Windows altogether without special help - very nasty. I would steer clear of these features for now and simply backup data in zip format only at this stage.

Thanks for the update! Let us know anything we regulars can do to help.

I am greatly ahead in NaNoWriMo and it entirely thanks to Scrivener!

PS - It’s posted twice, but still not logged, and it is driving me CRAZY. Just so you know, the dictionary doesn’t remember words users ask it to “learn” after the project is closed and re-opened. Still really happy with the program though!

Thanks mightygitis. That’s very odd - the dictionary not remembering. However, I just duplicated the bug, so thanks for that. I’ll log it now.
