2-way sync between Mac Finder folders and Scrivener research folders?

Hi,

Is there a way to sync them so that when I add a file to one it’s added to its counterpart folder automagically?

Thanks,
Jeff

Not for arbitrary files, no. There is a system that can “watch” a folder like you describe, keeping content in sync for both the files and the content they are matched with in your binder, but this system works for text alone.

If that sounds good enough, you can read up on the feature in the user manual, under §13.2, Synchronised Folders, starting on page 162.

Ok thanks Amber.

Are there any Mac utilities like Alfred or Hazel or file syncing utilities that can do this sort of thing?

Thanks,
Jeff

The basic idea there would be to open a file in Scrivener (and yes something like Hazel works well for that), which will import the document into the topmost open project. You can do that, but the method is not really based around importing things into a specific project, just whatever happens to be the thing you left on top of the stack last, or whatever you are typing in at the moment.
