So I have a document “A”
I hit ctrl-k and get a new one “A-1”
a bit later, I hit ctrl-k expecting “A-2”
a few more of these and I’m in “A-1-1-1-1-1” :open_mouth:

Is this a mysterious change of function buried in a menu somewhere that I am unaware of?

I also found that when you follow a comma, "i do not get capitalised is still not fixed.

Thanks for the report. The split naming is incorrect and I’ve filed a bug ticket for that. The auto-caps bug following punctuation is also on the list.

Is there a timeline on a fix for this bug?
It’s pretty-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-ing…

I’ll leave the worrying about QC to you, but this should have been spotted before it escaped.
One wonders if the mac version has this. (I have no mac, not will I ever buy one.)

It will be fixed for the next release, but we don’t have a date for that specifically. You could use Split with Selection As Title, perhaps? Or just enter a new name for the document after the split; unless you are in Scrivenings mode, the title is pre-selected after the split for easy editing.

Iei! Fixed in 1.7.2 … I just didn’t notice for a while because I restart scriv only when the laptop restarts!
