for a long time I’ve been sure that there is a book inside me, and I finally put aside my collection of tired excuses and started writing. I decided that a wiki was probably the best way to keep track of writing, and found a program on my Mac that seemed to do the job. But it was slightly clunky, so i googled like mad, thinking that there must be bit of software that would be more geared at writers. I didn’t find a lot - my choice of words must have been slightly off the mark. Most of what I found was about teaching you formulaic writing, or paying for software that would mould your writing. (Pinch of salt, I think!)
I hit this forum by accident, and at first I wondered at a forum that was half about writing, and half about some bit of software. And then it dawned on me that the software was probably writing related! (I’m not very quick on the uptake).
I downloaded Scrivener, and have now written two chapters. After much reading and more googling, I found 4 other similar programs and downloaded them to try out. I’ve dismissed them all, as Scrivener is the clear winner for me.
So I just wanted to say thank you for such a well thought out program!
I had a few suggestions, but so far all of the things I wanted to post about I’ve eventually found or worked out how to do - so they didn’t need suggesting in the first place.
I plan to lurk quietly for a while
