A Public Service Announcement: Backups

Even if you do not routinely backup your computer, PLEASE remember to do so before taking it in for service or otherwise giving other people access to it.

This announcement inspired by a very sad Scrivener user in our support system who didn’t. :frowning:

Argh, yes, if you send a computer in to Apple for a fix, they have a tendency to replace your entire hard drive…

They do indeed. They did exactly that to Bob the Weird MacBook. Twice! I got very good at restoring from Time Machine.
