A question on File Export

Hi,

First off, I love Scrivener 2. It looks and uses fantastic!!!

In particular, I’m thrilled to know that I can import any file in Scrivener, like PPT, etc. However, when the file is imported, it’s transformed to RTFD with the PPT file as attached inside. When I double click the PPT file in scrivener, Powerpoint will be started to open it. That’s great.

However, when I tried to export, it cannot export to the original PPT format. Is it supposed to be like this? Is there any other way around?

Thanks KB for your hard working all along the way! I’m still getting used to the new interface~

Best,

Denny

Hi,

Thanks for the kind words. The PowerPoint file shouldn’t be converted to RTFD. Are you using File > Export > Files… to export?

Thanks,
Keith

Yes, I used that as you said! The default option is RTFD, and there are other options (like .doc, .txt, etc.). However, there is no option for the original type, which is PPT in my case.

Ah, I see the source of your confusion now. But if you check the wording of the export panel, all should become clear:

In other words, that option only affects any text files that are getting exported. Your PowerPoint file will be exported as a .ppt file.

All the best,
Keith

Oh, I see!! Thanks for the clarification!
