About to go mad with paragraph styles

Honestly, about to pull my hair out. If there’s a tutorial about how to do all this, just point me in the right direction.

Simply put, I want to ensure that
(1) “Body” paragraphs are double-spaced, fully justified and have no spacing before or after. As far as I know, things are set correctly in in Scrivener, but when I compile to word, I get left justified and maybe single, maybe double-spaced.
(2) “Block Quotes” are 11pt font, indented 0.5" left and right, fully justified, 12pt space before and after. Again, as far as I know, things are set correctly in in Scrivener, but when I compile to word, I get left justified, maybe single, maybe double-spaced, 12pt font, first line indented only.

This is driving me nuts. Is there not someplace where we can just edit the paragraph styles directly, and then force those styles to be obeyed on export? Or is this an inherent limitation of RTF, and I need to give up on any meaningful formatting in Scrivener?

If you’re doing all your detailed formatting directly in the editor, then yes, you want to set Compile not to override all your hard work. When you open compile, click the triangle button to the right of the Format As drop-down menu so that you see the expanded options, then choose the Formatting tab. In that pane, deselect the “Override text and notes formatting” checkbox. Scrivener will then just compile with the same formatting that you’ve used in the editor.
