I’m in my 60’s and 3/4 way through an MA Writing. (Previous degrees all in business)
I’ve used Scrivener to write three novels, and marvel at how easy it makes the process. Now I’m at the difficult end of the Masters with research component, I tried using it for my latest major assignment, for my chosen research project, researching the processes involved in converting a movie script to a novel, the opposite direction to most.
Used research folders for all the research (obviously), cited works list etc, imported my script into Scrivener (one I wrote last year using Final Draft), and did the conversion highlighting the changes necessary to add introspection, POV etc. Made the task much easier than using Word, or any other method I can think of. Finished with a compile, bringing everything together.
Keith/rest of the team. Thank you for such an incredible piece of software!
Don’t forget to give us feedback on your experience with the new MacBook. Had a quick play with one the other day. It is sweet! Seriously thinking of retiring the iPad for writing, it’s so light, and despite some comments on line, I found the keyboard worked a treat.
I now have the Mac/Win licence pack and though the Win version is behind a little, at least I can continue writing from my desktop at the office with zero hassles. (Thinking of ditching the Win desktop and getting an iMac)
Again huge thanks! Also thanks for the way you and your team constantly interact via the forum. Such a contrast to other programs where you’re left with the feeling they’ve just pillaged your wallet and forgotten you exist.
Cheers
Rob
