Just want to confirm this… is there any way to alter the background color of the active file or folder in the binder so that it isn’t just dull gray? or is that Windows setting? Thanks!
Yeah, this is just the Windows selection and inactive state. We’d like to address this in the future to provide a custom colour for the selection bar if possible, but that isn’t something we’ve been able to do yet with the tools we’ve got to work with. Meanwhile, changing the binder background to something that will better contrast the blue/grey selection states will make it more visible.

Just encountered the same problem not perceiving the active folder / file.
Changing the background color of the binder works well.
For those “fighting” with the German version and terms, the background can be changed here:
Optionen > Aussehen > Allgemein > Mappe Hintergrund
