Add basic "find" to compile preview view?

Probably a bad/expensive idea, or there’s another better way to accomplish what I’m after, but I’ll post this, as the idea keeps occurring to me…

Add a basic bare bones “find” to the compile preview view, to facilitate locating location/text within preview material.

In my case, I’ve got compile set to compile multiple chapters, but often want to copy/paste just one, or part of one, into a text-to-speech program (Natural Reader), to review audibly. Obviously, I could change my selection in compile… but given how I have the material organized, that seems a bit tedious.

Either way, thanks. Love, love, love Scrivener.

Would the ability to select and copy text across documents in a Scrivenings session accomplish what you need? That’s already planned for the next major version.

Probably not, as I have inline annotations scattered through the text that I don’t want to copy/listen to.

But I’m sure I can either change my ways (more selective compile or get away from using so many inline annotations) or just do a select all, paste into a text editor, do the find there, paste into text-to-speech.

Not a big deal… just a suggestion… if it happens to prove useful in some way.

Thanks.

The ability to compile just the selected documents in the binder is also slated for the future, and there already exists “Copy without Comments/Footnotes” (which means without inline notation as well), so those may work too.
