Add text after a table

Hi all,

I’m probably missing something simple but…

I’ve got a 2x2 table, with two lines of non-table text above. I’m trying to add a new paragraph, non-table, after the existing table. The insertion bar appears after the table, but pressing return adds a carriage return in the last cell in the table. Pasting non-table text at the insertion points adds the text to the last cell. What am I missing? Thanks!

Edit: I did just figure out a workaround. I cut the table, added some paragraph returns, then pasted the table above a couple of paragraph returns.

Take care,

Config: MacOS 11.5.2 (20G95) / Scrivener 3.2.3 (14869)

Glad you sorted it… FYI, this is a situation where turning “on” the option to “Show” invisibles (Menu: View → Text Editing → Show Invisibles) and you can see the missing paragraph mark (Pilcrow) after the table. How you resolved is how I would do it so as to get an empty paragraph mark after the table.

I keep “on” showing invisibles all the time as it helps me know what’s going on with the text, e.g. missing paragraphs, new lines vs paragraphs, extra spaces between words, etc.
