Adding new 'parts' to fiction novel in parts

Hi :slight_smile:

Newbie here. I’ve been trying to use the New Project —> Fiction Novel —> Novel in parts feature. Unfortunately I can’t figure out how to add new ‘parts’ - it just seems to keep adding new chapters or scenes. I’m sure this is very simple but I’d be grateful for the explanation on how to do it.

Simple indeed! Just duplicate one of the existing parts folder via Ctrl-Shift-D (which will not duplicate the sub folders on it).

Or you can simply add a new top level folder, and it will become a new part :slight_smile:

Just create a new top-level folder, using the icon at the very bottom of the binder. Duplicating an existing “part” will carry with it all other sub-documents, document notes, synopses, keywords and other metadata. You can also use another of the icons at the bottom (the gear icon) to change a file to a folder; nothing is lost in doing so, as a folder can have its own text, just like a regular file, so you can always change a document back to regular text if you need to.
