Additional Word Counts and Timer...

Here are my wish list items for your consideration…

It would be neat to have a calendar in the bottom corner of the Binder. If you click on the date, you can enter a journal entry or free write or anything that you might want associated with a date (but not really associated with your project). Scrivener could also keep track of word counts in that area. This word count would track all sections… research, synopsis, headers, etc, based on date and update word count there. Then also there might be a button (similar to Project Statistics) that would give you a nice graph of daily/weekly/monthly or yearly (etc) word counts so you can see how you’re doing.

The other nice thing would be a timer if possible.

WordService from DevonThink allows you to insert date/time with a keystroke.
It’s a free download.

Thank you for sending that. Sorry, I probably didn’t explain very well. I’m not really looking for how to add date/time to the manuscript but actually I’d like to request the ability to track word counts by date (and get a pretty graph for it). (For the Journal Part, I have created a folder to track daily free writes. And I will manually keep word counts there. I just thought maybe it would be possible to have Scrivener do it for me with some type of Calendar tool…?

Anyway, I know not everyone is as addicted to word counts as I am but I thought that it never hurts to mention…

Just a thought, but it seems a spreadsheet would be a better application for this. A simple usage like this would not be hard to do, and it is easy to make graphs and perform math on the results, if desired.

Yeah, that’s my current route and it definitely works.
