After updating today, I am unable to launch Scrivener by double-clicking the scrivener project file, either from a desktop shortcut or from Windows Explorer. Note: I am still able to access a project by using the File+Open menu item within Scrivener.
Yes - I’m experiencing exactly the same problem. Help. Please.
Easy way to fix this: open Scrivener. (Just open the program.) Then double-click your project file. It should open after that.
Yes, it opens after that BUT if you then close everything down and try again to open a project file it does exactly the same thing - produces an error message.
The production team knows and has it on it’s list to be dealt with.
This mirrors what has already been said by other users, but just to make it official:
We have identified this as a bug in the newest version of Scrivener for Windows (1.2.1). We are working on a fix, but as a temporary workaround:
-
Open the Scrivener application first before attempting to open any projects.
-
Once Scrivener is running, then you can double-click on a project’s “.scrivx” file and the project should open normally.
