Amazon Reporting Problem with ScriV Generated MOBI

Hello:

I have been using Scrivener 2.2 to write and format my books using KindleGen for Amazon.

I recently published a book and Amazon rejected it because of format issues. They say, and I quote:

I did not use Calibre. Don’t even have it.

Anyone recently have this problem? Does it have something to do with Amazon changing their file requirements for Kindle Touch?

This is a matter of some urgency, since I’m unable to publish on Amazon and may have to reconfigure books abandoning Scrivener.

Thanks for your help.

There are two things you should do before further troubleshooting:

  1. Upgrade Scrivener to 2.3.1. A lot of bugs have been fixed since 2.2 and many of them in the e-book system. So there is no sense in starting with an old platform.
  2. Upgrade KindleGen to the latest version. This is probably the more important thing to do, as the new KindleGen version fully supports Fire and all that.
