Any change with 64 bit?

Does 64 bit have working spellcheck yet? Still using Scrivener under wine but I like to check on the native version every once in a while.

Unfortunately, I’ve not been able to get spelling working on 64 bit Debian or Slackware, even though I’ve got all the 32 bit aspell libraries installed. Scrivener (native) works great on those distributions otherwise.

It works perfectly here on Fedora 17, and I had the spell check running on Ubuntu 64bit as well. Just make sure that, both, libaspell and libaspell-dev (aspell and aspell-devel on Fedora) are installed in their 32 bit versions. On Fedora, I also need the aspell language packages in the 32 bit versions, which was a bit of a challenge since they didn’t show up in the package manager. So I went to the package search and got them from there.

On Ubuntu, the dictionaries seem to be architecture independent.

You mention the Fedora release, but not the Ubuntu. Which release of Ubuntu are you using?
EDIT: clarity.

My Ubuntu computer is some 6000 miles away and I’m not able to add a lot of clarity. I’ve used Scrivener with working spell checker on an Ubuntu 64bit installation at least since Ubuntu 11.04. But I’m not able to tell you what steps I went through (i.e., what libraries I had to link where) to get it working the first time. Since then, I’ve just upgraded to new Ubuntu releases. The last time I’'ve checked, it worked with Ubuntu 12.04.

Spell check wasn’t working with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with aspell installed. I added libaspell-dev with package manager and voila! Even though I bought a license for Windows, I will buy the linux version when it is ready.

I’ve been trying to get spell check to work on my 64 bit machine, running 12.04 LTS. Tried installing libaspell -dev and it worked on my 32 bit desktop but laptop still won’t work. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
