Hi everyone, I am trying to create what would normally be called a Smart Filter in most apps to create a set of dynamically updating documents that have matching metadata values to view, edit and rearrange in the Freeform Corkboard or Outliner view.
I have tried using Saved Search Collections, but when I select all of the items in the Collection and invoke Corkboard, the resulting Corkboard view does not have Freeform as a view option and there seems to be no way to rearrange the documents in the Collection in Outliner view. Without this function, Saved Search Collections seem fairly limited. The documents in the Collection can be sorted by Binder order, Title or Date (what date? - created, modified, ?) but not rearranged in any way.
I have tried the Filter… command, that is supposed to be available in Corkboard and Outliner but most of the time it won’t even work - I just get an error sound (anyone know why?) On the very rare occasion that it brings up the Filtering options, again the resulting Corkboard view has no Freeform view and the items cannot be rearranged in the Outliner view.
Am I experiencing a limitation in the app or am I doing something wrong?
Is there another way to do this other than manually creating and constantly updating subsets of duplicated documents in separate folders?
I couldn’t find any explanation in the manual or on this forum.
Any advice would be gratefully accepted. Thanks.
