Vic,

Thanks for that – I noticed it, too. It was just a matter of time before Macs got too common to be ignored by the bad people. New update to Java out today, I see.

Cheers, Martin.

Martin,
Of course, it goes without saying, that the quality, efficacy and efficiency, of Mac malware, will far exceed that of the lesser, lower order of OSs. ‘They’ll just work.’
Vic.

Mac viruses and trojans were out there, though. Granted, it was harder to get one, but I’d have to wipe/reinstall at least one mac a month when I was doing support.

I remember arguing years ago, that the Russian Mafia were putting kids through Universities, on computer science courses. Also, that, Mac crap was already out there, if only basically benign, ‘Proof of Concept’, stuff. The ballpark was already marked out, all it needed was the teams. And…at the end of the day, Mac or PC, we’re always one step+ behind these jokers. Ain’t we? :frowning:
Vic

The most widespread virus I have ever seen on a Mac was called something like “Norton Utilites” or something. Part of the Symantec virus family that Microsoft purchased to boost sales by releasing an OS with code that is “policed” by the Symantec family of “take over” tools.
