Bah! I’ve got TimeMachine, but I don’t think I plugged it in soon enough
Hmmm. This might be what comes of asking your husband to sort something out instead of doing it yourself!
Never mind, we’ve got them now, and at least we know that they’re the right thing and that the children’s universities won’t object to them when they do the promised electrical inspections…
I’ve got the spirit level app, and it appears that my entire living room is at an angle of -0.7º! At first I thought it was just the mantelpiece, but it turns out that nearly everything running the length of the room is that angle. The perpendicular width-of-room angle seems more or less fine, but basically my house is attempting to ooze slowly towards the front door! The consensus amongst the cynics in my household suggests that it might be a calibration issue, but I’m not so sure. I suspect that this may be evidence of a downhill slide…
If you turn the iPhone round and it shows the same surface as now mysteriously sloping the other direction, then it’s a calibration issue.
Either that or you could be living through an earthquake.
Siren’s a woman… spirit levels are a ‘man-thing’! Jeezz!!! Wot y’ like!? tch!tch!tch!
Are you sure it’s not attempting to ooze slowly out of the front door?
But I wouldn’t worry … the flat in Exeter — top two floors of a house — has been going downhill at more than that for 170 years, but I think it’ll outlive us!

You’ve got a point, but then Siren did refer to:
perpendicular width-of-room angle
so maybe she was feeling the earth quake under her feet … but perhaps we shouldn’t ask …

I’ll trade you your 0.7 for my 3.2. granted that’s for a 100+ year old house.
Over here the houses are often built so fast that they settle into odd angles within a few years. An acquaintance has a custom home that has dropped about 1deg over the last 3 years. Drywall cracking and all the accompanying issues.
