Assigned keyboard commands won't work

New user here
I’ve assigned some keyboard commands (i.e. command B = Hide Binder, command F = Enter Full Screen Mode) which are showing up OK in the keyboard shortcuts for Scrivener in System Preferences…and yet they don’t work - I have no problem assigning keyboard commands in other applications. Am I doing something wrong?

Both of those keyboard shortcuts are also used for other things - cmd-B is used for bold text, and cmd-F is used to call up the Find panel. You would also have to assign different shortcuts to those actions, too - but are you sure you want to override the standard keyboard shortcuts for bold and find (especially given that the binder and full screen shorts are the same except with the Option key)?
All the best,

Gotcha - problem solved.
