G’day from Australia.
I have just started using Scrivener 3, and need some help please.
I want to setup a page trim size 8.27 X 11.69 inches (21 X 29.7) but for the life of me I can’t work out how to do this.
Would some kind soul in very simple language please assist me being a bit of an oldie.
Thank you for your help and hooroo for now…
Best wishes to you all with you projects.
Paul.
Hi Paul and welcome.
First off, have you done the interactive tutorial you find under the help menu? If not do, 'cos then you’ll have a better idea how Scrivener works. You don’t have to do it all in one go; just do enough to get you started and then go back to it when you need to find out more.
On the question of page size, though …
Scrivener is about creating text, so is not WYSIWYG and basically leaves page layout questions to the Compile process. Even then it doesn’t have the all layout abilities of Word, leave alone a page make-up app like InDesign. It does have a “Page View” mode, which is there primarily for Scriptwriters for whom pagination is important. But even then. it is only an estimate of what will appear on each page, not a fully accurate representation.
“Page View” basically uses the page size set globally for your machine, I believe—I’ve never used it myself!—though how you set that in Windows, I don’t know.
As I’m a Mac-user, I’ll leave someone from our Windows community to help you further.
