Attaching a Scrivener document into OneNote

Hello Support,

Is there any way to attach a scrivener document into Microsoft OneNote?
I’ve tried attaching a .scrivx file but when I open it, the content is missing, though the structure of the document in intact.

Best Regards,

Steve

It sounds like whatever you are doing is importing the file by itself rather than establishing a link to it. You’d want the latter, unless OneNote has some way of storing whole folders intact and in such a way that files within that folder can find each other. By that I mean the .scrivx tells Scrivener where to find the content files, which are elsewhere in the project.scriv folder. If the way OneNote imports a folder makes it so that file can’t find other files in the same folder then it won’t work.

Linking to the .scrivx would work more like a shortcut does though, causing Scrivener to load the original resource from the original folder. So if OneNote can do that, it would probably be the best solution.

Hello Amberv,

Thank you so much for your reply and helpful hints.

I managed to link to the .scrivx file rather than attaching it, works perfectly.

Thank you once again.

Best Regards,

Steve
