An option to “turn on” automatical auto-generate from any items that have text would be great.
Ha, after years of dealing with support issues caused by 1.x’s default auto-generation of synopses (“Why doesn’t the index card update now that I’ve edited my text?” etc), I won’t be in a hurry to reinstate such behaviour I’m afraid. But you can select multiple documents and use Documents > Auto-Generate Synopses for this.

Will be using Simplenote a lot with Scriv. Scriv syncs text “field”, not synopsis “field”, but data entered on the different Simplenote clients will be mainly synopsis-related, hence the problem… For the same syncing purposes, an option do the reverse, ie populate text field from synopsis field, would have been great - especially the ability to batch do this to a number of entries…
