When I went to preferences and selected “automatically correct spelling” setting did not take effect. I restarted, then it worked.
Also, in editor, the contextual menu “font” shows “underline” checked. Uncheck it and then words are underlined. However, under “Menu - Font - Underline” it shows the correct setting.
