In order to have my new chapters always start on a recto page, Scrivener generates a blank page where necessary. The trouble is, this blank page has no header or footer, which results in my next new chapter page (recto page) having an even number, and affects all subsequent pages. How do I make the blank pages have a header and footer, so that these pages are also numbered and keep the odd and even numbered pages intact?
Update: The page settings give me the option to uncheck “no header or footer on blank pages” when I am in the PDF formatter. However, this is not offered in the page settings for Docx formatting. Any insights are appreciated.
I wish I could include screen shots here to help illustrate what I’m trying to explain.
The Page Settings pane for DOCX does allow you to include/exclude the header/footer on single pages. Does that help?
Also, check Word’s settings as well. In Scrivener, pages without headers/footers should still count.
On single pages yes, but not on blank pages. I don’t really know what is meant by a “single page,” however, I did try that setting and it didn’t help.
If I use Word’s settings, page numbering will start on the title page and every page will be numbered. I want page numbers to start on page 1 of part 1, which is about ten pages in.
Thank you for your reply, kewms.
