Automatically generating links when appending selection

Hi,

I’m wondering if it is possible to automatically create a link back to the original (internal) document when using the “Append Selection to Document” feature. I’d rather not then have to drag the original file on to the text that has been appended to create the link, as I plan to do this a lot.

If this feature isn’t currently included, would you consider doing so?

I’m moving this to the wish list since it is in fact not currently possible. There is the option to reference-back when making links or references, in the Navigation preference pane, that’s it.

OK, thanks for letting me know Amber. I think it would be a useful addition to the workflow.

Hi,

I notice that this was suggested a while ago, so I wanted to also reiterate the suggestion made here that it would be incredibly helpful to have a way of linking back from the appended selection to the original document. Even if it were just possible to automatically stamp the appended text with the name of the document which it has been copied from would be a great help!
