B40: Final Draft Import Broken

Hi,
Final Draft 11 is so poorly written that I wanted to bring my screenplay into Scrivner where I am also doing my other writing

I use File>Import>Files and open the FDX file.

It comes in with terrible margins.
It does not come in as Screenplay format and Convert to Screenplay doesn’t work.on the imported sections. So I can’t even by hand apply screenplay text formats for Character etc.

Try creating an empty Screenplay project and import the Final Draft document inside.

Probably did it out of order.
So that brough it in as a screenplay BUT. Terribly formatted it didn’t recognize and standard screenplay formats it all comes in as general text.
You should make a good importer. I can’t be the only one fed up with FD11 and its buggy code.
Looking of a good tool that supports beat boards style notes etc. Scrivner is perfect if you don’t have to handset all the formatting.

Thanks

Can you please send a small example file having a page or two with different script styles that fails importing properly for you?

Indeed you are correct. The Final Draft import is broken if you are using a non-high dpi display. This has been fixed and the fix will be available in the next Beta 42 update. Thanks!
