When I compile a draft as .rtf and open it in Word 2008, gray lines like notepad lines appear in the background. The lines show in Print Layout, but not in Draft mode in Word. I have searched diligently for something that could do this in both Word and Scrivener, and came up empty. Any ideas?
I don’t think anything in Scrivener’s RTF export would cause this. Are you definitely not in Word’s “notebook” layout?
All the best,
Thanks for your reply, Keith. I thought the same, but no, this is “Print Layout”. Other RTF’s do not show the lines.
After posting, I looked at the RTF in a plain-text editor, and didn’t see any “background” stuff, so I began to suspect a Word bug :-S rather than a Scrivener bug. I resolved the issue by copying the text of the whole document (Cmd-A, Cmd-C), then pasting into a new blank document. No notepad lines.
Curious! Do you get the same thing with all RTF documents exported from Scrivener? Could you post a screenshot?
