I’ve been having a problem with a file in one binder. I have no problem opening or working within this file and it works perfectly on my Mac but when I close it on my PC it stalls, I get a ‘not responding’ message and then it does a back up that ends with a “bad allocation” (std::bad alloc) error message. I’ve updated my Windows version, tried uninstalling Scrivener all to no avail. The reason I think it is one file is because no matter what file I open in the binder the name of the potentially corrupted file remains as the title of the binder.
“Bad allocation” is a memory error. What sort of file is this, text or media? If text, does it contain a lot of images? Was it imported from another program?
When you say that the name of the file remains as the title of the binder, where are you seeing this title? The binder header bar will show either “Binder” or the name of the currently loaded collection (e.g. “Search Results”); it’s never the name of a single document. Do you mean the editor header bar, which shows the name of the loaded document, is still displaying the title even when the document is not loaded?
