Basic principles...

I’ve only just become aware of this iPad forum and would like to add my penny’s worth. I haven’t read in detail through all the posts here so I may be repeating what others have requested, but maybe that in itself is a useful barometer.

These are principles rather than ‘what I want to see on the left hand side of the screen’ type request. I have no idea whether any of these are doable.

  1. I would to be able to see everything relating to my draft on the iPad. By that I mean the synopses, meta-data, word count, keywords, comments and footnotes, highlights and inter-Scrivener document links.

  2. I would like rich-text formatting on the iPad so that tabs and italics are preserved when moving from desktop to iPad and vice versa. This is important, especially for someone writing dialogue or indeed using Script Mode. At the moment I have to reformat text that has been written on my iPad and synced back to Scriv. Yes, maybe I’m doing something wrong but the point is I’d like it to be something I didn’t have to worry about.

  3. I’d like a full-screen editing view. This is essentially what I want to do on the iPad, take my work-in-progress with me and add to it when the muse takes me. Personally I use a bluetooth keyboard with my iPad and that works well.

  4. I would like to select what other non-draft documents I want to see synched. e.g. I may not want to have every research document for instance, but may want to see character sheets on the iPad.

I hope this is useful.
