Best way to ungroup a group?

After creating a group and putting a number of text items into the group folder itself, I realized it would work just as well if it were a single text file. What is the easiest way to “ungroup” a group so that all its contents become just one text file given that there is no “ungroup” command?

Select the documents and then click Documents -> Merge.

But why merge? You can still see the text as one contiguous piece of text using scrivenings mode. Just click on the folder and you will see all the text in the folder as one long document.
