Beta 23 Suggestion: Pre-select search text in Search Project text box

Clicking on the magnifying glass icon for Project Search toggles the text box to type in to search for something (search term). Nine times out of ten when I go to search I don’t care what I searched for the last time. I just want to start typing in a new search term.

Could the text in the Search Project text box be preselected whenever the box is revealed? That way if I do want to search again for the last term, all I have to do is hit [ENTER]. If I want to search for something else, all I need to do is start typing.

The way it works now I have to either double-click the text left over in the search text box or click on that teensy little x to clear it before typing. No huge deal, just a minor pain and time-waster.

Thanks!

A little addendum, haha, and this part could be considered a bug, or at least a minor but definite annoyance. In playing around with the Project Search button, I discovered that even if I explicitly clear the last search term, either by clicking the itsy bitsy x or by selecting the text and deleting it, then toggle the search text box to hidden, then reveal it again, the search term I cleared out reappears! See attached series of screen shots.

  1. Initial state

  2. Ready to click Project Search button

  3. Toggle Project Search text box to visible

  4. Clear search term

  5. Toggle Project Search text box to hidden

  6. Toggle Project Search text box to visible (having done nothing else since step 3)

Pesky little search term…
