Is there anyway to increase the indents in the Binder? I’d like my documents to nest inside my folders a little further in to the right.
There is. In Scrivener 3, select an item then > Edit Menu > Move > Move Right (you’ll see the key code there, as well).
There’s the same or a similar way in Scriv 2.
But AEW is talking about the visual appearence, right?
I think you’re right, lunk. I came back to edit my post with an If.
And the size of the indent in the Binder can’t be changed, can it?
Yes, I am
I haven’t found a way. If you try by moving the parent, the child moves as well while maintaining its position in relation to the parent.
Sorry for leading things a bit astray.
I don’t think there is a way to increase size of the indent, but you can make the difference between levels stand out a little more by making folders and / or document groups bold:
Preferences > Appearance > Binder > Fonts > User bold font for:
That’s the setting for V3 — you could also do it in V2, but I can’t remember where the setting was…
In V3 you can also change the space between binder items, which may also help:
Preferences > Appearance > Binder > Options > Row spacing:
Not exactly what you’re asking for but tweaking these setting may help a little.
And you can assign different icons to different levels
THANK YOU ! This is incredibly helpful
You can also set key high level folders as being separators. Right-click on selected elements in the binder and use the “Show as Binder Separator” command.
You could also differentiate by color, in example, label (color) all folders the same. Right-click on selected items > Label > choose a color. Then in the Scrivener menu bar > View Menu > Use Label Color In > Binder. There’s two options for the Binder. If Use Full Width in Binder is selected you’ll get a full width colored strip, if not you’ll get a colored dot.
