Blank pages in compiles

My project is a big, but normal novel with folders as chapters and the files underneath as scenes. In my compile’s to PDF I tend to get a lot of “blank pages” when the end of a chapter is near the bottom of a page. There will be a blank page following (with just the headers) then the next chapter. I have checked that there is no whitespace after the text in the last scene in these cases.

Thanks,
Andy

This can indeed happen if the text reaches the bottom of the page. The trouble is that in order to insert a page break, Scrivener has to insert a return character too, otherwise the formatting can be strange. So that extra newline can sometimes end up on the next page and then the page break creates a blank page.

Is there a fix? It makes for some ugly pages when I send my PDF off to print.

Thanks,
Andy

Not that I know of but I’ll take a look when I get chance.
