I see that full blown support for styles will not be in Scrivener 2.0 because of its technical difficulty, but from the style attributes post that there will be somewhat more support.
As an academic, I want to urge consideration of block quotes as a really important case for at least some of us. The three key attributes of Scrivener from the blog entry on what is NOT going to be in Scrivener 2.0 are really important to me. They made Scrivener very appealing when I tried it earlier this summer for the book I’m working on.
However, for me, a typical chunk that I want to work on in isolation has a block quote somewhere in the middle of it, and I really want to work on the whole chunk, not split into three, and I really want the block quote to show up as indented and single spaced when I compile to Word, whereas the rest of the text needs to be in standard manuscript double-space form.
