Bought new Mac 2 weeks ago. Need to access old Scrivener files but can’t open Scrivener. Keep getting message: “Scrivener” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.” WTF?
Perhaps delete the app then download and install a fresh cooy? Something may have happened on the setup of the new machine (you didn’t say how you set it up so i am guessing this will work. it is what i would do).
I’m guessing you used the Migration assistant and included Apps in the transfer. You will find many apps will give that message. The Migration assistant shouldn’t be used to transfer apps as it seems it doesn’t transfer all supporting files.
As already posted, delete it and re-install from a fresh download.
