Hey there. I’m a total newb to Scrivener, just a disclaimer first and foremost. If this is the wrong forum, or I shouldn’t be submitting this inquiry, let me know. I just need help, and this seemed like the best place to look for it.
Hey there. My name is Tori.
I don’t know how to explain what’s going on. I just started using Scrivener last month, so I’m still learning how to use it. I love it so far, or at least- I did until I woke up and realized something terrible happened. I noticed the program was struggling yesterday, but I didn’t may it much mind until this morning when I realized how bad things actually were.
I’ve experienced several crashes in the past two days, and now my documents are glitched to the point of (hopefully not) no return. I can use Scrivener, it still launches, but it’s messed up. Yesterday’s revisions/drafts are completely destroyed because of the issues I’m having, and my backups didn’t save properly, because of course they didn’t.
I’m sure this is more of a ‘user’ problem than a program error, but I digress. The program lags and crashes, and every time I click to edit a sentence a box (outline) shows up? I know that makes no sense in context, but this is what I mean: (PS: The forum won’t let me share images, so please forgive the links. It’s easier to show than to tell, to be fair.)

Meanwhile the writing commission I was working on yesterday has devolved into this mess:

(I desperately wish I forget that this is happening. )
This was a wall of text yesterday but now it’s nothing but graphics. I don’t know if this is an issue that happens when you insert images or copy images (and text) from a former draft to a new draft- but I would really like to find a way to fix this.
I don’t know what went wrong or if it’s fixable, or if this is the right subsection in this forum to post this, but any help would be very welcome at this point.
I have no idea how Scrivener works and have been slowly but surely working my way through the tutorial section, which means I’ve gotten through the first two ‘introductory’ tutorials and am pantsing my way through the program.
I’m using Scrivener 3 on Windows 10, PC.
Thank you for your time.
