[BUG] - Adding new Edit Substitution won't "stick"

Here are the steps I use to add a new substitution:

  1. Open File/Options
  2. Go to the Corrections tab
  3. Click on the “Edit Substitutions” button
  4. Click on the “+” button
  5. Add the text to be replaced in the “Replace” box
  6. Add the text to use instead in the “With” box
  7. Click “OK”
  8. Click “OK”
  9. Click “Apply”
  10. Click “OK”

I then immediately type the “Replace” text, type any punctuation, and nothing happens.

I did find a way to make it work, however. Here are the steps:

  1. Open File/Options
  2. Go to the Corrections tab
  3. Click on the “Edit Substitutions” button
  4. Click on the “+” button
  5. Add the text to be replaced in the “Replace” box
  6. Add the text to use instead in the “With” box
  7. Click “OK”
  8. Click “OK”
  9. Click “Apply”
  10. Check the “Enable additional substitutions” box OFF9.
  11. Click “Apply”
  12. Check the “Enable additional substitutions” box ON
  13. Click “Apply”
  14. Click “OK”

I then immediately type the “Replace” text, type any punctuation, and it works.

Please fix.

Even better, please add a context menu item when a word is right-clicked that goes straight to the box that pops up when you click the “+” button with the “Replace” box prefilled with the word you clicked on and the cursor in the “With” box, ready for the text to replace with. I.e., straight to step #6 (and then eliminate steps #8-10 or, as it stands now, #8-14). I really don’t see why I must go through 10 - 14 steps to do something as simple as this.

Thanks!

Thanks for the report!

This is a bug that has been fixed recently, and is currently in the beta build. I’d suggest waiting for the official update though, as we are coming to a close on that development cycle and it would be less hassle to just update normally.
