BUG Beta 37 (and earlier) - Unnecessary synch messages

I have my my projects set up to ‘Synch with External Folder’

On opening a project I am always presented with the ‘Changes found in external folder do you want to synch?’ popup, This occurs despite the fact that these folders were synched on closing the folder. When I say yes then Scrivener appears to quickly resynch a number of files (which I always thought were the last ones changed. Then when I close the project, without making a single change in the project Scrivener appears to resync those same files again and then closes without doing a backup (the backup is correct as I didn’t make a change), Scrivener then repeats the entire process the next time I open the project.

However Windows Explorer appears to show the files in the Synched Dropbox Folder are only being updated when I have actually made a change (as does Dropbox version control). In addition a Snapshot is only being made when a change has actually been made.

The messages are both unnecessary and worrying (at least until I spent the time tracking down what was occurring (or not occurring).

Hi AndrewHarvey,

Does this issue occur if you sync with a folder outside of Dropbox?

Tested with my main project and had the same issues when I set the synch folder within the ‘document’ folder on the computer.

HOWEVER, the problem now seems restricted to this one project which was upgraded from Scrivener 1. Those projects which had been created by the beta version (including one created by an early version of the Beta) seem to be synching correctly without unnecessary warning messages / synching (including one complete manuscript of about 90,000 words).

Apologies for not picking this up earlier.
