Bug? Fails to open & update 800MB old project

Tried opening a 1.5x Scriv project in 2.0. Project size 800 MB. Scriv 2.0 asks me if I want to update project and I said yes. After 3 hours it is still going. I am, fortunately, able to open the same project in 1.5x with no problems.

Please check the console (~/Applications/Utilities/Console.app) and see if any errors are reported there during the update process.

Also, is the fan coming on and memory getting eaten up?

It will either be an error thrown during update or excessive memory usage, but it’s difficult to fix without more info.

Thanks,
Keith

Fan comes on and then turns off.

Let me know if there is a specific log you need to know. Console Messages include many:

My computer has 4 GB RAM and just runs Webkit and Scrivener 2. It is 2.4 Ghrtz MacBook Pro 13 incher.

I am not getting any crashes. I have have about 1.2 GB of memory free according to Activity Monitor. During the update Scrivener is using only .1% of the CPU and 72 MB of RAM.

Try typing “Scrivener” in the search field of the Console to narrow the messages down to only those pertaining to Scrivener seeing as there are a lot. Then quit Scrivener, relaunch, try to update again and keep an eye on the Console as you do so - I would expect an error to appear quite quickly.

If it were a memory-usage issue I’d expect the fan to stay on and the CPU to get eaten up too. Strange.

Thanks,
Keith

I then quit Scrivener 2, relaunched it, and tried to update my 800 MB file: Console says
