In October I lost images that I had imported into research folders. (Unfortunately, I accidentally posted this in the wrong forum.) I re-added a few, but they too disappeared with the last update.
The folders are empty and will also not allow me to add text.
Sounds like a bug, certainly.
Do you still have the backup from right before the time when they were lost? That would let you recover your information.
Adding text should always be possible, so I suspect a corrupted project file. My way of fixing those (and they happen relatively frequently) is to create a new project, with a similar name and similar structure, select the entire binder of the old project and drag and drop it into the new project as a new folder at the root level. Then move the various bits around to where they’re supposed to be.
This has its own caveats. Custom metadata is copied, but the index is not; you’ll need to re-enter any custom metadata tags to see it. If you use enumerated lists from which you choose values, you’ll need to re-enter those lists.
But the underlying bug, project file corruption, remains unaddressed.
