[BUG] v35 refuses to create backup on close

I have options set to create a backup when I close Scrivener (forever). I was using it all day long and just closed it.

Here’s the result.

As you can see, the backup folder not only exists but v36 created a backup of the same project yesterday: Liar’s World - The Rights Scam 02-02-2020 BETA 36 VSN-bak1.zip.

So why didn’t it create a -bak2.zip today?

This is the first time since I started using Scrivener that it failed to create a backup like that.

Did you add anything to the project today other than text? Any new imports, tables, lists, new formatting? That may be a good place for us to start looking.

Mostly text (1500 words or so), a few web links, a couple of links to documents in the project. No graphics or anything unusual added.

The only thing I did that was new was a Format/Font/Copy Font and a corresponding Paste Font. I did this several times (1 copy, several pastes) because although my section titles looked the same, (I use Heading 1 for them,) when I selected some of them the Style drop-down selector read “Normal”, but if I dropped the list down “Heading 1” was highlighted but without a check mark to the left. When I changed them to Heading 1, the font changed. So I did the Copy/Paste Font to restore the formatting.
