Bulleted list spacing totally nonfunctional

Hello julomai, and welcome to the forum.

The issue you have encountered is a known bug with the text system in the Qt framework used by Scrivener. Our developers are working to resolve it. We apologize for the inconvenience.

What most users are reporting is that the indents remain consistent when working on new lists (using Tab and Backspace) but are inconsistent if they try editing an existing list.

One workaround for editing lists is to select the list, select ‘None’ from the list menu then reapply the list format and edit.

Another workaround is to create a style for each level:

  1. Create a list.
  2. Select the entire list and apply bullets.
  3. Select a few lines from the top of the list and indent them using the ruler. (View ▸ Text Editing ▸ Ruler)
  4. Select them and create a style by opening the style menu and then the style panel.
  5. Click on the + button to add a style. (e.g.Bullet list 01) Repeat for each level of indentation.

Later when you want to create an indented list:

  1. Create a list and apply bullets.
  2. Select sections of your list and apply your styles according to the indentation you want via the style menu.

One of my colleagues reports that this method holds the style, and therefore the position of the previous bullet point, if you close and reopen Scrivener and then hit return to add a new point.
