I know Scapple can do more than mindmap software, just wondering if it will open mindmaps.
So then I could buy Scapple & use it for both notes & mindmaps?

It doesn’t open these types of files directly, there would not be a truly logical way of doing so—but most of these programs can export their content as a text file, and that in turn can be imported into Scapple as individual notes, splitting by lines or separators (depending on whatever works best on export from these programs).
