Can you draw a line like _______ but make it thicker?

Need to draw a thick line. Is there a way to draw a thick line or make one thicker (besides bold)? I am using Shift -hyphen, but that is limited. Thanks.

You can increase the point size for the line.

You can use an image instead, and make it as thick as you want.

Increasing the point size increases the space between the line and the text above it (I highlighted the line and then increased the point size).

I was hoping to avoid having to make an image, but it looks as if that is the best approach.
