Can you set a word count goal for the entire manuscript?

I see how to set the word count goal for each section of text in a chapter, but I can’t find a way to set a word count goal for the entire manuscript or even one chapter. Is there a way to have a manuscript word count goal?

View -> Statistics -> Project Statistics. Or just press cmd-alt-shift-s. You can set a total word count target in there

I only see a place to enter word numbers in ‘Words per paperback page’ and ‘Maximum lines per printed page’.

Am I missing something? I don’t see where I can set a total word count goal…

I’m sorry, I see it now. View-Statistics-Show project targets. Thanks.

Any way to show the progress bar in the main window?

Afraid not, although since it’s under a simple shortcut (Cmd-Shift-T) I find it’s pretty easy to bring it up and glance at it when you need it. To be honest for myself, I’d rather not have it sitting on the bottom of the window all of the time…I have enough trouble with clock/rss/window/girlfriend watching, I don’t need constant word-count watching too :stuck_out_tongue:

Bugger. Yeah, Project Targets, not Statistics. Apologies, I always get those two mixed up…
