Can't get a hashmark compiling sections

This should be a simple fix, but I can’t find a solution. When I compile a draft of several text documents that are flagged to be separated with section breaks, the compiled text (.doc) does not have a hash mark (#) at the end of a section, even though this has been set. I’ve tried several different settings.

What do you mean by flagging sections to have separators? There is no individual file-level control over this. The only option for section separators is in the second tab of the Compile interface, and that is a global switch. It only works when two non-folder items are set to be compiled adjacent to one another. So if, for example, there are folders emitting titles between the text documents, there will not be a scene separator.

If that doesn’t make sense, I would suggest making a quick little test project with nothing but three text documents in the Draft. Then compile with Scene breaks set to “#” in the Text Options tab of Compile. If that works, then compare what is happening there with your main project.

One other thing, unless you really need a .doc file, it is best to use RTF. RTF works just fine (even better in fact that .doc) in Word. The only time you really need true .doc files is with programs that cannot read RTF files.
