Can't import existing files

I suddenly find that I can’t import existing files into Scrivener. When I click on this from the gear in the bottom left in takes me my directories but all files are greyed out.

Are you in the Draft or the Research part of the project?

Only text-based files can be imported into the Draft folder, so other file types will be grayed out.
