Can't Open Mac Project in Windows?

Hi,

I was using a Mac, and saving things in a dropbox folder, this worked great with ios version and mac version. Now using Windows instead of Mac. When I got to open project I get dialogue “created using a new version check for updates…” Exact dialog attached.

I check for updates, it says I am up to date. Thoughts on this?

Was it last edited using Mac Scrivener 3?

If so, you need (on the Mac) to use the File -> Export -> As Scrivener 2 Project command to make it readable by Win Scrivener 1.

Using Scrivener 3?

literatureandlatte.com/intro … crivener-3

Which Windows Scrivener version are you using now, and what was your Scrivener Mac version? If you were using Scrivener 3.x on Mac, you’ll need to go back to Mac and export those projects to Scrivener 2 before you can open them in Windows. If you were using Mac 2.8.x.x, then it sounds like your Windows version is old despite what “Check for Updates…” is telling you. You’ll need Windows v. 1.9.7 to work with iOS compatible projects.

Dang, Katherine & Bridey, y’all type so much faster than I do…

Thanks everyone, yes, that’s it. I was on v3 on Mac. So I can see my options are either export as v2 (on Mac) or use the Windows 3 beta. I’ll do one or the other. Thanks! -billb

In my case, I’m less eloquent, not a faster typist.

Happy New Year.
